Madikeri, the main town of Coorg, is about 250 km from Bangalore. The drive takes 5–6 hours via Mysuru, depending on traffic and stops.

Ooty is about 270 km from Bangalore via Mysuru and the Bandipur–Mudumalai forests. The drive usually takes 7–8 hours with breakfast and rest stops.
